Travelling well for the chronically unwell

Travel is meant to be fun, exciting, and restorative. But if you live with chronic illness or disability, it can often feel like the opposite: exhausting, stressful, and painful. We know that feeling all too well.

We’re Juan and Kendra, a couple who love exploring the world together, even if it means getting creative to make travel work around fatigue, pain, and accessibility challenges. We’ve learned how to troubleshoot the tricky parts of travel so that we can actually enjoy the journey—not just survive it.

We're excited to share what we’ve discovered: little tricks, bigger lessons, and honest stories from our travels. Whether you’re living with chronic health conditions yourself, or supporting someone who is, we hope our experiences spark ideas that make your own adventures feel more possible (and more enjoyable).

About Juan

Disabilities, chronic health conditions, physical impairments… call them what you will, I’ve got a few. I won’t bore you with the full list, but let’s just say travelling hasn’t always been easy. I’ve been figuring out how to make it work for over three decades, and along the way I’ve built up a toolkit of ways to make holidays less stressful and more fun.

For a long time, I felt like my health put limits on what I could do. Then I met Kendra. Together, we’ve learned to balance adventure with comfort, so I get to explore without paying for it too heavily afterward. On one of our recent trips, a fellow passenger told us, “You should start a blog about this!” Say no more!

About Kendra

Oh hey! I'm here too 😊 I’ve always loved discovering new places, whether that’s tracking down the best street food or just plain getting lost. I’ve travelled on both sides of the Atlantic (and a few islands in between), but my most unexpected stop was the Isle of Man for work, where I happened to meet Juan.

Since then, my favourite journeys have been the ones we’ve taken together. I love finding ways to make travel not only accessible but genuinely joyful, so Juan and I can both enjoy the ride.

We can't wait to meet you!

We're looking forward to sharing what we've learned, and learning from you. Thanks for joining us on our next adventure!
